Re: Tropical Storm Isaias
Just got power back on. Lost it at 2:20 yesterday. Thank God and the area up here by Zoo and I was hit hard. Power coming back and roads being cleared. 75" oak tree, healthy totally uprooted and winds are clocked at 47 mph for teh area - no way I have seen 5 of these downed. Anyway we lucked out no damage and that he moved real quick.
Cleaned up yards, and put house back to order from generator.
Hope all is well you all.
Atlantic not calming down at all. I hate to say it but we may see another one before this season is over up here. Things happen in three's!!!

So sorry to those who have no power, during Sandy we lost power for 10 days. That was the absolute worse.

Hey JCP&L. The 1950's called. They want their freaking infrastructure back.
Sweet merciful crap! 24 hours AFTER the storm we had power. Lost it TODAY AT 11:00AM. Not likely to be back until after the weekend.

Thankfully, my power was out for only four hours yesterday, although I still don’t understand why it went out a day after the storm.
Route 10 by my house was blocked off by the cops and dead stopped with cars around 6 pm yesterday for tree removal. It was crazy trying to get around yesterday.
Edit: Power out again. This is nuts.

I really love that graphic. You can tell right away the effect of the 'Bermuda' High which kept him near the coast. Then the trough 'reeled' him inland.

Re: Tropical Storm Isaias
Still hearing horror stories on when electric comes back for people. In parts of Westchester, not until Sunday. In Goshen here in Orange County, later tonight. Outside of Phila, my friend tells me it will be next Monday. The storm spanked the grid. For those who have generators and/or boats to sleep in (with air conditioning), good. I was at Home Depot yesterday to buy something; I saw two pallets of 12 generators each. I saw them all go out the store.

Re: Tropical Storm Isaias
Yeah scott LI got hit hard, westchester is finally going down in numbers quickly, i was very surprised we got it back in 3 days. I was fully expecting a Sandy like timeframe of 14 days (to cover themselves) and havd it come back after 5 or 7 i forget. At least those trees didn't destroy your home, im sure you are relieved at that but that must have been scary AF were you home?sroc4 wrote:I still have no power. Grrr

My cousin in Fort Salonga saw trucks in her neighborhood late afternoon yesterday. Hopefully you'll get it back soon!
