That’s out my way Ray. It was hairy out here for awhile. We def had some serious gusts. And a few hours of sustained 45-55. My house narrowly escaped. The one in the road ripped the power and cable lines off my house and the one next to the house are top of the live wires. There are huge oaks down all over town and across the island. It is beautiful weather out there now. I have all the windows open and the house feels fresh from the wind, which is now down to a nice breeze.
Very fortunate! Ours went out around 4:00, but some areas of Parsippany were out several hours before that.

Wicked man!! Glad to see everybody/thing is ok, though, for sure!!! Been there plenty of times already in my life with trees, unfortunately, so I know how it feels watching that unfold. Material things are just that, though; material. Life is so much more, and you were lucky enough to come out with both, plus some (now in hindsight) awesome memories!

Damian, tried to text you , my power came back on at 9 30.Was out from 1 pm.
Had wicked winds and rains for a few hours, then it was just light rain and calm.Figured the eye must have passed over me.Winds picked up again, but nowhere near the high end of the storm, and the sky cleared.Property in great shape, a few small branches and some leaves down, but from what I am seeing here, I made out ok.Hope everybody came through safe and sound.

Power back at 1 am this morning but no services, just phone internet. How did everyone make out now that it is first light? The back end winds were something up here!

No but your totally right. Honestly just wish it was cooler. Never had this happen in heat of summer . Irene we kept power Sandy was freezing. Wife was pregnant and so cold. Even in heat it's really hard take cold shower.@rb924119 wrote:@jmanley32 wrote:Yeah apartment life is awful. Re: Tropical Storm Isaias
yonkers was one the hardest hit areas. They have not even surveyed the area yet. Yeah we lost power on the back end winds isn't that crazy.@dkodgis wrote:Power back at 1 am this morning but no services, just phone internet. How did everyone make out now that it is first light? Our power is still out with no estimate for coming back on. Of course we couldn't get our generator started either. Hubby is working on it now...

Gas stabilizer like Seafoam Green is a must in stored gas otherwise erhanol in the gas attracts water and bad things happen at try to start time. And monthly start up tests

Re: Tropical Storm Isaias
It had stabilizer, but hadn't been started up since this winter. Apparently some screen was clogged... not quite sure as that's 'not my area'!
We bought it a year or so after Sandy, but haven't had to use it until now. I guess I can't complain! He got it running now, so my freezer and fridge are plugged in. Thankfully it's not the 'feels like 100*+' we had last week, so I'm okay without the a/c!

Re: Tropical Storm Isaias
Unbelievable how many lost power. I am one of the lucky ones! I hope you all get it back soon. The wind forecast materialized - not the 80+ mph gusts some models showed - but clearly the 55-70 mph gusts were enough to cause damage. Just goes to show how devastating an actual hurricane would be for our area (Irene, Sandy) types.

Re: Tropical Storm Isaias
I thought NY gas stations had to have generators to pump gas in outages. Fortunately I had plenty but that’s another consideration-getting gas during an outage. No electric, no pump, no gas

Sorry to hear so many had damage...we had a gust of over 50 mph.after I said to things calmed down and thehf winds picked up...we lost power and if came back a bit ago...the whole area has widespread outages..some being told will not get power until FRIDAY!!!! Lucky for us our generator can handle our rerigerators and big freezer that are packed and our boat..first time we have used it since Sandy...so we moved down to the boat yesterday... this us crazy only a tropical storm..what next in 2020
