Coldest temp here last night of the year before the clouds rolled in and temps rose a bit. Hit 38.8 around 2am. Heat is finally officially on. Looks like the next few nights might be even cooler.

Soon enough my friend. Winter is kicking in the door right now. Gonna take it a little while to breach the entrance, but it can’t be stopped now.

Can’t wait to wake up to frozen ground tomorrow! One step closer to waking up with snow on the ground. Lol.

Exactly! Assuming the clouds clear out and winds stay calm, still think frost is possible on LI. Tumbled to 38.8 last night before the clouds rolled in and tonight's airmass should even be a bit chillier.

Keep an eye on this weekend.

Low was 29.5 this morning. Haven't gotten below 37 prior to today. This is the latest frost I can remember let alone hard freeze IMBY. Some have mentioned the dearth of snow in Eastern CA. That is true in that there isn't much of any snow OTG in Central/Northern Quebec, Labrador where by now they should have 1' on the ground. Pretty much have to get up into Nunuvat to see appreciable snow OTG.

With regard to the ENSO state being at least moderate La Nina that usually isn't prolific snowfall for our area. But there are too many factors to just focus on that like PV strength, SSWE, etc. However, I'm more interested in the AO state for these parts. Negative AO for good stretches of time gives us a good chance of at least average snowfall. See how it plays out.

Someone mentioned Isotherm's Winter Outlook which I as most folks look forward to. His website hasn't been updated with the 2020-21 NJ snowfall maps so I'm not sure what to make of that. Hope he posts this year.

These ENS are showing excitement BUT  GIVE ME THIS IN MID DECEMBER THROUGH JAN AND KABOOOOM!!

32.6* for a low this morning. Coldest of the year. As with last night, high clouds during the middle part of the night allowed temps to stay around 38 until a rapid drop once the clouds moved out around 4am. This allowed for not a killer freeze/frost but just a short lived morning frost for a couple hours. Amazing how late in the year the flowers are staying alive in the yard.

30* for my low this morning. Good thing I harvested Sunday in my garden and Monday!!

28.9* for my low this morning, frost on the cars. Gorgeous out now, 48.8*

Was 38* before I went to bed around 10pm. Suddenly a wind of 5-10mph started blowing after midnight keeping temps around 40 all night. Some frost on the rooftops. Freeze warning up for tonight. With HP in place and clear skies, finally might have a hard freeze.
