Some pretty intense snow. This band definitely puts us over 5 inches And maybe will bring us close to six. Depends on how long it sticks around

Yep, so far so good. Our problem here on the coast, is the first hour of this had to cool and coat the ground. Now, we’re primed and ready to go, but for the next hour or two of snowfall! lol. Oh well. I’ll take it. If I can get an inch, then I’ll claim victory for exit 80. As of now, I’ll call it a push since we are getting our back end thump.

Got another 1/2 inch but looks like possibly one more band coming through hopefully topping 3 inches total.

For sure! Very heavy snow and a steady 20-30 mph wind too. Looks just amazing outside right now!

I have no idea how much snow we got here. It was a blizzard out there earlier, so I didn’t go out, and there was a lot of blowing and drifting snow. Looking out now, it looks like some liquid precip mixed in at some point and there appears to be much less accumulation out there than there should be. I’ll wait and see if a trained spotter reports, but my best guess is there was at most 2 inches on the ground at maximum accumulation.
But it was a great snow day, watching all that blowing and drifting all day!

Up at my sons apt at Quinnipiac in Hamden on the mountain here. Holy moly wind driven snow is insane up here. Gusts easily 40 mph plus.

Before I forget. Heehaw phenomenal job calling this one. All season brother. Ray on the LR and you on the SR. On point. We have a great well rounded crew on this site.
Moderate to heavy snow ATM. Coating so far. Hoping for an inch. If this is this last hoorah for my area so be it. That said I’m still not quite ready to grade the season yet.

I officially measured 5, not 6 as I thought before, but still a good March week with 3 on Wednesday also. 27 for the season which is still well below normal.

Why is it that Central Park only got a Trace for this storm and Laugrardia got 0.9. Dosent make sense. It seems like every storm they do the worse.

City stays a bit milder for easier melting. If you didn't look out the window and see it snowing, you'd barely know that it snowed at all walking home last night. Looked like barely a dusting of snow on the rare grassy areas - I'm not too far from the park.
I admit they are terrible at measuring but this wasn't much at all in the city - we didn't really see decent snowfall until after 4 pm for a couple hours.

Driving home from Hamden Ct last night at midnight on the lovely Merritt Pkwy, we hit a big squall line that put a quick coating down near Trumbell. Got down to 21* here last night

Appreciate that sroc and of course let me call out your analysis too. I can always count on you for objective, in depth and comprehensive analysis on any storm of significance. Love the 500mb vorticity analysis that you do to show the what if's and what to watch for that frankly most people including myself miss.sroc4 wrote:Before I forget. As I've said before Rb's 500mb call this season was the best I've seen this season. Especially with his PAC predictions. Let's us remember that we've had a fast flow PAC for several years, but after December that trend was reversed. I still am lamenting December where I though the NAM state was going to save us, but Rb said not so fast and was right. I'm going to close out my winter seasonal contributions to the forum with some posts in the Stats thread. I will get to that today and thanks all for a great season of tracking.
