Dec 16 Just a little change can make the difference

Not expecting anything but rain but damn not 25 to 30 miles due north look to get 6 to 12. I got a wind advisory so there's that lol.

Heavy Rain here. Under one of those bands that if this was snow would produce crazy rates. But alas 37* and rain . . . with a wind chill of 29*.

I think we may have willed it into existence.. starting to see flakes increasingly the last 5 minutes. BUT sadly, air temperature keeps rising and now sitting around 34

Heavy Snow in Butler (Morris County) has been for a little now. Half inch off my car.

One and a half inch of new snow, had 2 inches on the ground from the previous storm, snows heavy then slows down , on and off, temperature is 30 degrees, feels like a wet snow!

Well this has been a pleasant surprise...switched over to heavy wet flakes around 1pm here and has been going steadily ever since. Just crested the 3 inch mark in Hopatcong! Roads completely covered.

I am up on a mountain at about 1000ft so that must be helping me out. Curious to see reports from Sussex county as this seems to be over-performing a bit as of right now. Snow still coming down, Christmas lights on....beautiful!

Over 3 inches here in West Milford. All snow.

The lower levels are starting to warm rapidly now.  CAD is getting pushed back with approaching storm.  Needed that storm to be 150 miles S/E.  Happy for those that saw snow!

That 1190 feet seems to be paying off, I think you're in the early lead in snowfall for the entire forum. If I'm not mistaken, you've gotten some measurable snow 3-4 times now already, right? Now it's time for a biggun!

My buddy on the mountain in West Milford at 6:30 tonight said ~ 4"



Shame 925 level cold was all the way into CNJ and 850s were to CNJ as well just boundary was just to warm. I kmo2 about the warm tongue but it was the marginal boundary temps that killed tjis from being a better storm, and as HAW pointed out the storm getting up to Wisc. A much weaker storm would have not gained latitude and thus would have allowed a transfer dither S or trekked across the country and bellied under the block. Wasted opportunity for many here. Those N&W enjoy and onto the next one.
Start 2:20pm at school in Allendale as snow and sleet and was not sticking at 35*. For about a 1/2 hour it was that then we switched to a white rain and sleet.

Disappointing to ee all that snow just to west. Im far enough north but looks like the warm air is just riding up the hudson river valley warming things enough to melt the snow before it reaches the ground

Just when I think it couldn’t snow any heavier, it does. Radar showing bright yellow over me. Not so sure on how much we have here now but looks like at least 6 inches so far.
