Re: October Obs & Discussions
NWS lowered totals below a inch for most, hoping it continues to 0 and misses completely.

I hate when we get early season Strat PV disruptions. It always seems to snap back after during climatological winter and fights us. We shall see.
I usually don’t disagree, but I have a reason to think that this one might be different. Although, I think the GFS is rushing it a bit.

Mornin Ray Ray. I hear what your saying and likely have an idea as to why you are saying it, but let’s just say I’m “gun shy”. Lol.

Hey Jet. I think with some of the heavy rains over the last few weekends, this weekend’s rain seems to be kind of run of the mill. Here is the latest from Upton. Totals have dropped from when I posted yesterday. Some localized flooding I guess is possible if this comes down in a short time, but it’s likely to be more off and on from about late morning early afternoon Saturday through mid day to early pm Sunday

Out at Penn State Football game yesterday and miserable wx, 48* and rainy mose4ate at times. I've never seen mud as I did yesterday in all the tailgate lots, ankle deep plus in some area. At 6PM winds started kicking in and 46* felt colder.
NEVER AGAIN!!!
Tranquil week to another coastal next weekend.

this makes eight weekends in a row with rain at least today try not to be beautiful. I hope this weather pattern less into the winter for snowstorms. not that I want rainstorms every weekend.amugs wrote:Out at Penn State Football game yesterday and miserable wx, 48* and rainy mose4ate at times. I notice we have not yet had a frost. It seems maybe the last week of the month we could get one. I see this as a few weeks later than usual.
The weather has been coolor, wetter. What will winter bring?
44 degree right now and today it was a bit cool with the wind. Doc, are you running the pool for the first frost and the one for the date of the first CP post?

46 degrees, partly cloudy, calm winds.
I notice that too Damian, by now we usually have a frost here.We can run a pool on that will take it to banter.

Nice. It is 60 here so no snow. About 3 pm a rain storm came through. Intense for about 8 minutes, then ended. It caught me by surprise. I can to get off the tractor and come indoors.

Not too bad, certainly not much comparatively to what we have seen, and this is over a span of almost 3 days, and 12z Euro has almost nothing, I would be perfectly happy with a rain free weekend.amugs wrote:Lovely wet weekedn again!!

Re: October Obs & Discussions
Funny thing is I was driving and pulling into my Lake community with my wife and it just got done pouring rain and my wife said “ Look it’s Snowing “ ! I Looked and snow flakes were coming down . I showed my wife your snide comment and the the other one from the therapist ( scary) and she was very surprised to say the Least. Anyhow wishing everyone a record snowfall winter! “The snowflake can survive if the cooling due to evaporation outweighs or balances the warming due to conduction from the surrounding, warmer air.”
Looked this up for you ,found it interesting ! The picture I posted was not of Snowflakes but of the sky all day here at 1190 feet , I’m right off the Appalachian Trail !
