The 45-50 is the 30 year average which includes all of the snowless 1980's. Once they're out of the equation with the new averages in 2021 the norm most likely will be back above 50-55

LOL accuwx, 1-3 inchs my mouth is stuck, mets need to get on the ball this is real its coming! I can't see less than a foot for anyone from maybe just west of NYC to MA.

Upton just put out a snow map giving 4-6" for NYC and 10-14" for the eastern end of LI.

metals if it was a week away and a poor setup I think people would be much more hesitant BUT its only 48 hrs away or so and looking likely to be a historic storm, crippling to many areas, even NYC and NJ. Models have been pushing towards Euro run of 24+

4-6 for NYC lol, starting a little low I think, this is too close to play games, people are going to be cut off guard better to over predict IMO than not and people get caught off guard.

I know what you mean Doc. My mom's almost 80 and lives down in Whiting in SJ and she is hardcore snow weenie. Mom's going to love this forecast and REALLY love it if it happens.

Thank for the hard work guys, the wife and I put gas in the cars and got a fresh batch of groceries today. Worst that happens we have full tanks of gas and a full pantry. Better to be prepared.

metals, they are not in total agreement but the euro was first to how this event and the other models have been caving to its idea which gives the general consensus that yes they are coming in line with each other. Its going to be tough to say exactly where the heaviest now falls but NYC is in play areas east have the highest chances, but IMO from NYC east its gonna be a blockbuster, maybe even a little further west if trends continue that way.

Skins, I just call it SJ because my grandparents had a house in Ortley beach and I spent most of my summers at the shore when I was young. My parents always use to say we're going to South Jersey to visit your grandparents on vacation. I guess that's why I consider it SJ.

MWS is siding with the WPC, which is why their upton snow map is low, the discussion eludes to the very good possibility that everything will need to be increased.
