Re: February Observations and Discussions
This month can't end soon enough, I wish it was 18 days long instead of 28.
Two of the last 3 Seasons March has been the snowiest month in NYC. Can we make it three of four?

Well, the bill had to be paid for that extended period of very cold weather.Too bad for us up here CP it yielded below normal snowfall.Lets hope the long range projections for a snowy first half of March pan out.We are way below average on snowfall for the HV.

Horrific. I’m doing my spring mulching and turning over the soil today.

Re: February Observations and Discussions
Sad to say I did some mulching this morning too as well as extending a small garden fence. These projects usually would wait until late March but when I see growth poking its head above the soil in my garden it’s time to get a start. Hoping it’s all covered with snow next weekend

It's hard to wear me down weather wise but this February has certainly done that.

I hear you Cp. Just think if we just had normal temps most of us would be looking at feet of snow but no we get this cold rain just a kick in the groin.

I second that emotion CP, 1.15 in the bucket, an easy 12 inches at 10:1 ratios.Very difficult to handle cold rains during the snow season. So friggin' close at 37 degrees!

Re: February Observations and Discussions
As i said before just normal temps and the right storm track it would have been a great winter, but its tough when you are so close to the goods and get cold rain in the upper 30s. Yea doc its just tough to take.

And officially, February 2018 broke the record set just last year for the warmest February on record. 42.0 this February compared to 41.6 last February.

The 3 warmest Febraurys ever all in the last 8 years. A very ominous sign.

Math, were you like counting down the seconds to midnight before you came out with the official temp recording. It’s like it was New Years Eve for you. You are funny! Keep up the good work!

Mikes a great stat guy but his warmacist side worries me.
Great job this week Bob, you are a great addition here. I love the back and forth between you and RB.

Well, yes actually. Since mid-February when the forecast projections had it going to the warmest on Record. I put the data on an Excel spreadsheet to monitor the scenarios, in particular what would happen to tie the 41.6 from last year and would need to happen for it to be below the 41.6 from last year. Given the high on 61 on the 28th, in order for it to go down to 41.6, the temperature that evening would have had to crash all the way down to 20*. And in order for it to be below 41.6, it would have had to go down to 14*. Since the temperature did not crash (as was expected) we had the 42.0 for the final mean temperature.
