pretty boring here so far, close to when the worst was supposed to be, the winds may be a bust up here.  Doesn't really matter, maybe it'll be later but highest gust per wx underground near here was 35mph hours ago. Off waters of Mamaroneck, NY had 47mph gust.

with 45mph winds? You must have weak trees, 45mph almost never does anything here, oh its windy, I think the station im looking at may be a bit sheltered cuz i can hear the wind.

Not saying I want power outages but you gotta laugh at this, the two adjacent counties to my NORTH have nearly 2,000 outages while coned has 275 showing that the wind must be much stronger up there (which btw is a normal day, they always have a power issue somewhere) obviously there is a glass globe around my county, another reason to move north lol

Had about a five to six inch snow cover left today. I’m guessing it’s approaching 0 about now. It’s pretty hard to get much worse weather than this in the northeast on a Christmas Eve night.

i am a bit concerned with the reports i am seeing in between where this 21st batch rain is and the second line, it appears thats where the worst winds are. thats how the outages are dispersed in PA and NJ.  I hope none of you lose power. eesh, getting bad.

42.3 mph gust pretty near me reporting station. Dunno that we see widespread winds like they were forecasting unless this thing really has power wrapping up as it goes NNE but they usually never do and by looking at the amount of outages already for the poor people that gotta deal with that its prolly a good thing, anyone know areawide what the higest gust has been?

Here we go. Winds are beginning to gust between 55 and 70 across the area with JFK coming in at 58 mph and McGuire AFB gusting to 69 mph within the past hour.

Also, that squall line blowing thru MD and PA means business.

Holy winds Batman! I am easily getting 60 mph gusts. Trees are starting to come down, I have large branches down in my yard. And not even with the squall line yet! No one is sleeping in my area tonight!

I just took a step outside when the rain stopped and my god its like a train sound. I saw two transformers in the distance go, it def wasn't lightning very quick from ground and bright. Yeah im a bit concerned about that line too soul, the winds are mixing down without rain so when that line comes through....where was that 69mph gust recorded at?

I do not believe my local station showing only 43mph gusts, ive heard that b4 and this is much stronger, i need tel lthem to put their wind guage in a better place lol

Wind was never an issue here, but it rained very hard for a very long time.  In fact, it’s still raining hard.

The very disappointing thing is that yesterday at this time I had a complete snowpack on my property - there was no grass visible at all.  This morning there is nothing left, other than a tiny pile where some shoveled snow had been tossed.

NY was the hardest hit with the lower hudson valley getting hit really hard over 100,000 outages, some of our friends sadly who have kids are without power. We survived with power, never even flickered.

So according to local station we max winds 50 mph sustained (I was wrong we did reach 50mph sustained) and a gust of 67.3 mph. i am very surprised I have power. Merry Xmas all!!

Wow, the wind sure did verify here! We easily had gusts to 60 mph, took down trees and powerlines, and took out my weather station.
