Wowzers. I had a feeling that Jersey City and Hoboken would take a big hit from this when I saw the amount of rain we've had here, headed to that urban corridor. I'm guessing the PATH tunnels are not the place to be right now.

They just issued catastrophic flooding in yonkers...I can confirm I have never seen this. And there is rotation over pelham moving towards new rochelle.

It is insane by me about 5 min age we had rain and wind so strong i couldnt see across street was concerned tornado may have touched down nearby. seems the rotation disipated, but it is not over by any means, the heavy rain is just crawling.

Many reports in NJ now of over 10" of rain. And those are areas where it is still raining. We could be talking over 12" of rain in some locations, which is absolutely incredible.

Tropical Storm Floyd 1999 caused one of the worst statewide flooding events in New Jersey and rainfall was 12-14". Irene in 2011 max NJ rainfall was 11.27". This will pass Irene and maybe match Floyd.
