INSANE conditions on Mt Washington, NH. 120mph+ winds and -95°F wind chill. It is above the tropopause, meaning that these are stratospheric winds.

Here in Albany, it got down to -13 this morning, tying a record low! And the wind chill got down to -34!

back to 20 here. cold but not notable. meh winter continues. 3 last night. that was cold! little dog hated it. other one did not care. But they both wore sweaters.

Let the dog out last night ..he started barking at bushes swaying in the wind..I walked out on to the deck to call him in and the baby wipe that I had in my hand to wipe him was frozen in the less than the 1 min I was on the deck..

. He looked at me like you are not wiping me with that thing..

And here comes the warmth! Dramatically warmer tomorrow as temps climb to at least mid-40s. But quite confident we won't run +10 AN this month. In fact, this month will probably be less than the 43.5 mean that January was. Snowfall probably sig less than average which for the I95 this is peak climo. Really going out on a limb for that one I know.

Mt washington is awesome, I can not wait to go back there in August. It is an amazing place

If there's mercy this winter the late weekend system's precip will for the most part slide south of the area instead of a 45 degree rain soaking. Maybe too much to ask and could totally see the rain making it this far north. VA west of I-81 corridor will probably be the ones to get snow and possibly sig amounts.

55* and Cloudy. Second straight day where I've opted for iced coffee instead of hot -- something I generally don't do until April. Forecast for next week has all five days in the 50s and 60s for high temps. This is no "winter" that I recognize.

Also, a sneaky coastal storm will impact our area Super Bowl evening into Monday. Rain may break out late Sunday around 10pm-ish. So be mindful of that if you have party plans. Steady rain continues for coastal sections through Monday morning. This is the same coastal storm I alluded to in the LR thread over a week ago, and sadly it will hit us but with no cold air to accompany it Sad

Feels like an April warm front went through. Have the windows in the house open to get some fresh air in. Crazy.

So true. Not sure what is worse: Spring-like temps and no snow in the middle of winter, or abundant cold air and a snowstorm that cuts off just a few miles to your south, so close you can smell it. Both are their own form of torture.
