hey frank thanks for the update why is everytime we get into spring we have to deal with rainy raw chilly conditions then we get into fall its warm dry sunny days i dont get i guess global warming

Just checked out the forecast for next week. All I'll say is: Ewwww.

The forecast for Plymouth the next few days fits more into mid to late October than early May...Going down to lower 40s with +RA....currently 47 -DZ and low clouds...

Heavy pouring rain in upper East side

Holy cloudburst Batman! Already 2.5" at rates of an inch an hour. Localized street flooding occurring, going to be ugly as streams start rising.

Major Flooding around white plains

Flash flood warnings are in effect for nyc lower Westchester and parts of Jersey till 4 pm it .all I gotta say wow it is coming down in bucket for almost 1 hour or more

Apocalyptic rain. Hope I make it.

This chart and forecast does not bode well for May as a Month where the Block may persist. if this happens we can wind up BN temps wise and AN precip wise for teh month - I know no sht sherlock with todays deluge but we can be WAYYY over our normal precip if it happens for the extended period.
The orangey colors = High Latitude Blocking on this and yuo can see it increasing and lasting past the 20th if yuo extend this out.


Next weekend - HOLY MOLLY - this could have a Nor written all over it!

Poking around the dot.com weather sites, I see the general thinking is cooler next week and the next week. It is too bad if we have a Noreaster next weekend, especially Saturday because a friend has an outside event at a park. I don't think it looks good. As for those temps from Mugs' screen snapshots, back on goes the wood stove. We have had our heat off since end of the first week of April and even no stove on because it has been OK in the house except for a few cool mornings. Poor farmers who plant. It is viva Las Vegas for them. They can either lose seedlings or get washed out.

Damin the entire wintwr wheat harvest is done killed by the storms and cold in the western plains. We'll feel it's effects in a bit on our grains and the like.
This cold if for real would be 3-4 days for HV and the area with EPA and CNY gething wintwr cold.
The Gfs brings it back 10 days from now YIKES!!

The rain today was crazy, the bronx river was at capacity even past gun hill and it rarely gets that high there let alone if just a few hours. It was actually low earlier in the day.

Bull westchester got 1.59, the flooding does not start until 3 inches or more and it was bad, way off.

I saw that too.  The river was like at eye level while driving. Some of those parks along the river get swallowed up for a while.

You can see rapid rise to flood stage at gauge in the Botanical Garden beginning around mid day.

We got the short stick up here, only .86 total for the event so far.Looks like the heavy stuff hit Mugsy, Dunz, Al, J Man and Dtone.Still, it's a blessing going into the summer with the reservoirs full.Cloudy, damp and cool spring so far.
