I was going crazy when my station wasn't recording right. I ended up putting a Rubbermaid tub outside!
Now I have an old-fashioned glass gauge as a backup.

The hww for LI was extended west a bit and oy gusts to 65moh. Anyone on here in that area? Advisory expanded west to Fairfield County. Something tells me it will end up going into eastern jrsy if it goes any further. Looks that rain is go last a while and I think that line is when winds kick in as there have been high gusts to 60mph today in CT and even LI.

18z 3km nam is Sig further west bringing the LP center over eastern long Island. If true then the area could be in for quite a bit more rain 1 to 2 inches and winds maybe 40 50mph gusts. LI is go get buffeted no matter what. Cape go see hurricane conditions potentially. I'm on phone how strong is the Low compared to modeling and placement?

Bastardi believes the 3km nam and winds reach 50mph into Hudson Valley. We will see. Insane has 90 to 100 mph gusts just offshore Cape and bos

wth, this is rediculous when I was in grade school if there was rain we went to school when there was a hurricane we went to school buses went around the flooded areas, what gives? I want all those hours taken off my work time so I am taking a few weeks off paid lol

Jman there were roads that were completely under water right by the schools..no way for busses to get thru..and how can you have kids wade thru water and downpours..I can't share the pictures but if you go on hazlet police department on fb you will see a couple of pics they posted

Oh yeah I get it but also wonder what they did before. Not first year floods happened in sure.

Ended up with 6.25” of rain. Pretty impressive. Winds are def gusty. Jon I’d imagine you would be like a junkie getting his fix listening to the roar this am. Lol. Regarding the flooding I’d imagine that like most areas there is a lot more concrete and pavement in and around any given area making flooding a lot easier when compared to a few decades ago. Less area to absorb rain and more area to funnel more water to specific lower lying areas. It’s certainly like that by me compared to when I grew up.

Wow. Lol yeah prolly as to the wind fix. Has it been damaging over there or is it not as bad as stated. Breezy here but nothing too much to say. I'm just hoping we can get this big storm as snow in Jan!!

wow 244k outages in eastern mass, barnstable has 23,000 and they not a huge town.  Anyone have a wind max report ?
