The heavy rain ended up being focused near the front which is over eastern Long Island. Most of Long Island and Eastern Connecticut have seen two inches or more of rain so far. flash flood watches and warnings are up for the whole island and Eastern Connecticut

NWS totally blew it for NNJ, forecast 1.75" only got .75" and LI got slammed

They sure did. That was one of the areas that needed it the most too.

The record breaking 80+ streak ended today. It started raining right around midnight and temp dropped from low 80s to 79 at 12am. So it ends at 62 days. 7/10 - 9/9.
The record for annual total of 80+ days will still be broken soon if long range forecasts are correct.
Its also top 3 for annual total of 70+ minimum temps
EWR was 80 so they carry on.

Lots of rain for most people. Immediate NYC area did not get as much because of the track the surface low took. Basically right over the city which is why those around it did good. Models did not have a good grasp on this storm. Some yesterday suggested the jackpot will be N&W.

I know Doc and hopefully it will magically change this winter!! Or else I am cutting the first 3" off my yardstcik when I measure for my snow totals to make up for it!!

73 degrees, 90%, 29.69 F , sun breaking through and a nice breeze.

Got back from fishing in Harriman Park and trees really changing there.Almost 20% I'd say.
