Tropical Storm Isaias

This storm is moving double-time now. At this speed I wouldn’t be surprised if some areas of NJ are in sunshine before the end of the afternoon. I think the prolonged heavy rain seems locked over eastern PA/western NJ and the rest of the area sees some bands and storms off and on with one main area of heavy rain moving through between noon and 3 pm. The winds may still be a factor, but as Frank said, a good chunk of NJ will see only moderate rainfall totals.

Up here in northern Orange just a mile from Sullivan, light rain since 3 ish but steady and still no wind. I don’t need “exciting” so good. In fact right now at almost 9 am, the rain has stopped. I expect it to get worse but it is an under the covers and a Netflix day so far

lol we had a indoor tent for my daughter we put it up for her as she is terrified of wind and tornados, i know hard believe shes my child huh

Yeah except for that arcing band off the ocean we may see only wind from this and very little rain. We will see how it evolves he is trucking at 33mph now, already knocking on south jerseys door. 700,000 power outages from this storm so far. i can see passing 1 million easily.

Wow gusts this high above sustained is uncommon, higher gusts may actually pan out, 9am advisory still 70mph TS.

A NOAA NOS/COOPS weather station at York River East, Virginia,
recently reported a sustained wind of 59 mph (94 km/h) and a gust
to 94 mph (150 km/h).

Another NOAA NOS/COOPS weather station at Rappahannock Shoal,
Virginia, recently reported a sustained wind of 53 mph (85 km/h)
and a gust to 85 mph (135 km/h).

yeah i was saying earlier very uncommon to see enhanced risk for tornados in our area. in fact i do not recall such just for tornados

Maybe the Euro wasnt crazy jesus thats close to NJ. That is however in the main arcing band with tornados and not the main wind field, so we will see. Still like i posted VA seeing winds to 94mph gusts. So calm here you would never know anything is coming.

Wow the percentage chances of 50kt sustained winds are quite high NYC on west and just east, thats pretty bad.

NHC updated the point on the track in NJ sustained 55kts usts 70 kts, not good if it pans out and from what mugs is posting looks like severe winds to our south not to far away.

nope nothing here either calm as can be, i think the real winds are i nthat band and then with the center passing to our west. We just have wait and see, no one can predict whats go happen where, this is real time.

Also heavy rain starting to fill in over NJ. I think “go-time” for the worst of the storm is almost here. Should be nasty For a lot of people between 10 am and 3 or 4pm.

Hey where is skins..my shore partner..don't see him on here for this..its getting darker out this morning a few sprinkles..currently 79* humidity 99 percent...winds lite at 10mph from the NE. all ready for this. Do you really think we are going to have such high winds here at the shore???
