I do think there will be a lull in intensity for the next hour or two until the secondary can start to take over and "fill in" the area between this first heavy band and the next heavy band over Central PA. That area in PA would make it here by midnight anyway, but what is more likely if you look at the radar/model projections (assuming they're accurate) is that the precipitation shield will start to re-orient and fill-in. That is why this early burst was so nice, because there may still be several more hours to go for some people once that fills in. Now, as we get later some people who have snow now, may have mixing issues, so that still has to be watched especially on the southern fringe of this.

Looks like about an inch and a half so far but that radar also looks like this is quickly racing to an end.

Just turned off like a light switch, very light snow now, I hope there is more of that blitz to come, wow some jerk while I was typing this smashed his car into a parked car, checked his own car then left further scathing the parked car, good $1500 damage easily on that car, I hate people. This has happened to me so many times and you end up paying the deductible and then a lifetime rate increase.

If you have a radar app with a "futurecast" type feature showing what the radar will look like over the next couple hours, you may be better able to visualize this. You'll see that the gap between this band and the one in PA actually fills in and becomes one solid area of snow from NJ back through PA. This would be the secondary Low starting to assert itself.

Ya this looks like it will last into tomorrow morning at least, I mean rush hour time with that fill in gives us many many more hours of snow. myth this is only going to be a lull.

Oz Nam shows .. much more precip develops and consolidates with less mixing and more snow. Looks colder.

Coastal starting to develop earlier than expected south of Delmarva.. models had this well east.

Snowing pretty good again. Roads are slushy, they aren't going to get too bad unless we get a much longer period of snow at the intensity it was before. Still this is nice to see for once.

This would be very good news.

This is your ULL in blue.  The surface low and mid-level lows will develop in response to this approaching the coast.  IMO this will cross around NYC and above Rt 80 should remain mostly snow. Folks below rt 80 will mix. This is zonal and there is no dig to the trough so it can't go any lower.

1.5" will do it for me.  Just trying to get to double digits this season and what a feat that would be.

Blitzing again, looks like a steady fetch of heavy returns for a while now incoming, everything is covered, dunno how much my guess is a inch or so on road, maybe 2 on colder surfaces.

29.1 and snowing rather heavily again. The 6-8 on the WSW looks very doable now.

Welcome back CP, sorry to hear ur AI died, headed to bed for me. Wish I could stay up and watch the snow but I have to be rested for work. Not easy helping the mentally ill when you can barely stay awake lol. Maybe I will get to work remotely which would be nice.

Have officially gone over to a heavy Rain here at 34*. If something doesn’t happen to pull some more cold air in and push the r/s line south I am likely done for this storm with a couple inches. It was nice while it lasted but always knew where I was located on this one and I didn’t expect much more than 2-3”. Good luck to all those north of me; may the r/s line’s progression be halted and you all end up with several inches of white gold.

Back to a mix with some snow here, but looks like main precipitation shield is moving away from here, so won’t add to my totals. Some scattered showers to the west still to swing through overnight. Whether they’ll be snow or rain I don’t know, I’ll be asleep. It’s unintended that I checked in here even at this hour. Lol.

6 inches on the ground, 28 degrees, snowing very hard, just got done shoveling my driveway for the second time.
