Re: February 2019 Observations and Discussions
Ur not kidding, I think this could potentially overperform too with a few isolated gusts over 60mph, its a insanely large area of high wind warning to say the least, what sucks is it comes in after 10pm and ends monday at 6pm so as I said I will be inside at work all day so I will really only see anything when I go to work and maybe when I get out at 3:15, and grselig I want snow just as much as you I would actually prefer snow over a high wind event. Its just something else that can be thrilling but I would much rather see a blizzard.docstox12 wrote:Wow, jman worthy winds coming!

The fog here is very dense cannot see more than a quarter mile in places, I am sure with the incoming winds it will blow away quite fast.docstox12 wrote:Radar shows rain ending up here.Batten down the hatches!!!!!!

Re: February 2019 Observations and Discussions
Widespread outages and downed trees/limbs already being reported across Michigan and Ohio. This will blow thru here tonight thru tomorrow AM. Biggest wind threat locally since that wild wind storm last Spring.
As an aside, I am quite pleased with myself as I’ve been harping on this wind threat for days now (cc jman) lol

Oh I knew it was going to happen too just been very busy, these storms where the back end winds come from the NW almost always verify, like last spring.SoulSingMG wrote:Widespread outages and downed trees/limbs already being reported across Michigan and Ohio. To be honest as much as I know JMan will be into this, I’m not too excited about 55-60 mph winds ripping through here followed by 30-40 mph gusts all night. Hope my house stays in one piece.

Holy crap!! 65mph, I do not think I have ever seen it that high. That map above makes no sense, NJ no outage issue? And PA being highest, I imagine it will be a high issue everywhere especially up north too, that map is way off. Now I am really pissed that I am gonna be stuck inside underground at work. I think if I get up early I can catch some good winds before I go in. Maybe at the tail end too.

Re: February 2019 Observations and Discussions
I just realized thats a 22 hr wind event, and here the ground is mud, not good. Found the site, its really cool and I get it, the outage color legend is currently not expected. You can click your area or any area and get the specific companies outages by county.

Good Lord a whole page on wind with not a flake of snow involved in this event.
This winter has fallen to a new low.

The most dramatic weather event was a snow squall. Now its superseded by wind. pathetic. just pathetic.
