8* surprised to break single digits again. And still buzzin' hard over a measley 2 inches yesterday...
It's all about perspective and expectations. If this 2" that fell imby was say the southern edge of a godzilla, I'd be out there with a bic lighter melting it myself out of disappointment and resentment. But when the same 2" is a straight up 2" surprise bonus which doubles yearly snow fall, it takes on a whole new feeling...

3 was low. This past 4 days couldn’t be anymore dead of winter look and feel.

Got down to about 7* here. Have rebounded with sunshine to 16*. May break freezing this afternoon. Even with this brief cold snap the sun is getting stronger and days slowly getting longer. As it looks like there is no snow in the immediate 7-day period, probably worth noting that we are only a couple weeks away from when sun angle starts to become an issue with daytime snow accumulation at the end of this month.

15 here, sunny, calm.
Yes billg, I had to adjust the timer on the outdoor lights to switch them on later at 5 30 PM.With next week burnt we go into the last 6 weeks of possible snow time.I know the last few March's have been very snowy but that's not often the case. Many years in my old house when I had my organic vegetable garden, I would be planting early crops on StPatrick's Day when in a warm late February-early March, the ground was dry and workable.

I just did the same thing with my outdoor light timer. Lol. And you are right: Last March was a pleasant surprise for snow lovers but I wouldn’t bet on two in a row like that. In my area (I’m a little south of you) March is more chilly and wet than cold and white. I’ve always said we have the opportunity for big snowstorms through March and pretty often get one. But it is usually in isolation - not the weekly snow events we got last year.

OK, last post on yesterdays 'snowstorm'. Just some scenes from yesterday, last night and today. Temps are still below freezing (30*) so most of the cover should hang on thru the day...and into tomorrow's torch.

Just hit 32*. Probably go a degree or two above. One wonders when the next time I’ll have a high temperature below 32* will be.

Nice pics SENJ!
MUCH milder next week. Near 60 degrees on Tuesday after morning showers. 40s rest of the week. Next weekend looks cold again but not nearly as cold as what we're coming out of now.

Will go above freezing today first time since Tuesday. Saying my last goodbyes to the snow which beautifully graced the landscape here. Very emotional day here.

Yes I think my snow cover will officially end tomorrow, which will bring my seasonal total for snow covered days to 16. Far below my minimum required for 60 for the winter to get a C.

Just returned from
Amday and a half up at my parents in Olivebridge. Solid 10” snow cover still. Surprising how much snow there is from new Paltz on north

Hit a high of 50 in Binghamton today. Snow is disappearing quickly. Grass in many spots now and brown ugly piles of snow in parking lots lol

I know I've been seeing those pictures, and how frozen the Hudson is. I monitor a group on FB "the hudson valley in pictures" since we vacationed up there last year...phenomenal pictures.syosnow94 wrote:CPcantmeasuresnow wrote:heehaw453 wrote:Will go above freezing today first time since Tuesday. 60 also A grand day . I do not want to sound like a distal occlusion on the enamel of progress, with a nod to Doc, for I recognize snow comes and goes. I just want mine to stay. I still have a good coating.
