This winter has fallen to a new low.
The most dramatic weather event was a snow squall. Now its superseded by wind. pathetic. just pathetic.

Front passed through and wow have the winds picked up, had a 22 mph gust here already. 20 -24 hours of this will produce power loss.

Yes. And with lows in the upper teens tomorrow it will be very dangerous for those without heat.

Wind was definitely making its presence known all night. My house is wood-frame so when its windy, I know it. lol. Unfortunately the other tell-tale sign is the littering of unsecured trash across my neighborhood. It ain't even trash night folks, keep your trash secured!

Dprsnt appear to me the winds are nearly as strong as hww criteria. Is it going to get worse or die out from here? Not many outages in this area I suppose that's a good think. But it was def keep me up last night very loud.

Just another wind forecast that never quite lived up to what was expected.

Re: February 2019 Observations and Discussions
Right now I’m having intermittent power outages at my house. It will go off for a minute then come back on. Then a little while later go off again. I’m PSEG which is doing ok right now. Doesn’t appear widespread but there has been a spike in JCPL outages in the last couple hours.

PSEG outage map I took off their website. Does not look so bad right now. Hope it remains that way.

Re: February 2019 Observations and Discussions
Looks like my area had around 50 as a top wind gust so far.Glad the outages are not that bad. After losing power 8 days from Sandy, I am scarred for life having no power.Looks like peak winds are now to evening when they say diminishing will occur. It's been howling non stop all day, partly cloudy.Might get a few inches Wednesday and more snow/slop Thursday-Friday.From discussions in the other thread, looks like the next two weeks could be the last train out for winter weather. That storm track was set in stone, everything to our west.

Re: February 2019 Observations and Discussions
It was recycling night here in Branchburg. Cans and bottles are all over the place. I left mine inside and figured I can wait until next time. I did lose my trampoline to the wind (found it 3 houses down) and also lost a tree in my backyard that crushed 2 sections of fence around my pool. That happened around 10 am this morning. That kind of stunk! Highest wind my station registered was 46 mph.billg315 wrote:Wind was definitely making its presence known all night. My house is wood-frame so when its windy, I know it. lol.
